History
Founded by the John N. McCann family in 1846, McCann’s Plumbing Supplies has a long and proud history.
The McCann family of the Geelong district were early settlers and industrialists who had extensive interests as farmers, stonemasons and builders. Later they came to be known as the building suppliers John N. McCann Proprietary Limited.
The McCann family built many bluestone buildings, a notable example of their work being the Old Geelong Gaol. The McCann family interests also included the Geelong Cement Works. In 1967, John N. McCann Proprietary Limited moved to our present three-acre head office site on Latrobe Terrace, Geelong.
In 1981, SCI Group purchased the business and expanded to supply plumbing and building products in Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast and regional Victoria. SCI Group also owns and manages Striproll Roofing Products.
